Think I Better Wait 'Til Tomorrow
I purloined this title from a Jimi Hendrix tune. I'm not one hundred percent sure that I got it correct, since my record collection is stuffed away in the basement where it's difficult for me to make sure. In any case I went to see " Jimi, All Is By My Side" an alleged story about Mr. Hendrix. I had read in an article that came out well before the flick was released, that Jimi's estate refused to let them use any of his works for the production. I went to a matinee, since the film did NOT get good reviews, I was not ready to spend a lot of cash for it. I felt like Michael Jackson...I was the only person in that theater. If you are a Jimi Hendrix fan, DON'T see this hunk o' junk. If you're a movie fan, avoid this crappy attempt like it was an open cesspool! This was worse than the reviews. There was no redeeming quality to this lame excuse for entertainment. Some rap star, who I have zero knowledge of played the title role, and he was wholey unconvincing. The plot was tediously non-existent. The movie simply stopped, instead of ending. I cannot see why any studio executive would let this shit wagon get released, let alone funded and promoted. The scenes which took place at this live performances, looked like he was in an air-guitar competition. He NEVER looked like he was a brilliant guitarist actually playing. I cannot emphasize enough how worthless this film was, even if I had seen it on regular TV, with interruptions for eternal commercials, it still would have tried my patience to watch. On a scale from one to ten, it was a negative number! I'm fairly sure that once it's released onto the video rental market, that it will endure an upswing in viewings, but there are some people who just won't take advice.
